昨晩から風が強くなり、今日も時には雨がかなり降ってました。でも夕方には雨がやんで、ちょっと晴れたりして、見事な雲！
嵐の前の静けさ・・・でしょうか。
さて、13日にニューハンプシャーでミシェル・オバマが行った、超パワフルなスピーチ。
鳥肌ものです。
全編にわたりスゴイ。ますますスゴイ。
トランプの女性に対するトンデモ発言が（また）露出して大問題になっており、
"It has shaken me to my core."
（心底衝撃を受けた）
と、ミシェル。
「あんな発言を、普通のこと、いつものこと、みたいに流せない。だから今日は、いつものような応援演説をするわけにはいかない」
そして今回は、言葉、身振り、声、すべてからわなわなと怒りに体が震えているように感じられ、でも、それをものすごい精神力でおさえているので凄みを感じさせます。
"Strong men who are truly role models don't need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful. People who are truly strong lift others up. People who are truly powerful bring others together. And that is what we need in our next president. We need someone who will heal the wounds that divide us, someone who truly cares about us and our children, someone with strength and compassion to lead this country forward."
そうなんですよ。
アメリカで男性として育つ息子には、ロールモデルとしてトランプを出すわけにはいきません。
5歳の息子でもなんだかオバマ大統領が好きらしく、
「オバマ、どこいっちゃうの～？僕はオバマがいいよ～。I will miss Obama」
と言ってます。
で、ミシェルの演説、クライマックスがまたすごい。
"There is so much at stake in this election.
See, the choice you make on November 8th could determine whether we have a President who treats people with respect or not. A President who will fight for kids for good schools, for good jobs for our families or not. A president who think that women deserve the right to make our own choices about our bodies and our health or not.
That's just a little bit of what's at stake. So we cannot afford to be tired or turned off. We cannot afford to stay at home on Election Day because on November the 8th, we have the power to show our children that America's greatness comes from recognizing the innate dignity and worth of all our people.
On November the 8th, we can show this country is big enough to have a place for us all. Men and women. Folks of every background and walk of life. And that each of us is a precious part of this great American story. And we are always stronger together.
On November 8, we can show our children that here in America we reject hatred and fear and in difficult times, we don't discard our highest ideals. No, we rise up to meet them. We rise up to perfect our union. We rise up to defend our blessings of liberty. We rise up to embody the values of equality, opportunity and sacrifice that have always made this country the greatest nation on Earth.
That is who we are!
And don't ever let anyone tell you differently!
Hope is important.
Hope is important for young people.
And we deserve a president who can see those truths and a president who can bring us together and bring out the very best in us."

マスメディアやソーシャルメディアで流されるトランプの差別的な発言の連続が、この国で幸せでない人達が自分の中に持ってる周囲に対する理不尽な憎しみに火をつけているように思う今日この頃。他人を理不尽に攻撃する大人、それを容認する大人たちの姿が子供にどれだけ影響を与えることか。
私はこの国で過ごしてきた20数年で明らかに差別的な言動を直接されたことがないのですが、正直、トランプのようなのが表舞台に出てきたアメリカで、外国人であること、アジア人であることに初めて危機感を覚えました。このままここで年取っていくわけで、単なる「アジア人のおばーちゃん」になるわけですし。
私は日本国籍保持者で、アメリカでは永住権しか持っていないため投票ができません。これからもずっとアメリカに住む予定なのに、今後の自分の国籍はこれでいいのか？
アメリカ人、ちゃんと考えて！」
としか言えないのがもどかしい。
にしても、ミシェルに大統領になってもらいたいと思う夜でした～。
